This track relates to Mason and Candera. Mason is a man from earth who was brought to the world of Midkemia by the Mystic Saunderon Suns.

Mason was trekking through the Syngian mountain range with a small company of his companions when they were ambushed by Drandian warriors. He escapes the ambush only to find himself lost in the heart of a deep, frost-bitten, wilderness. He has lost hope of surviving when he is unexpectedly rescued by a mysterious stranger, Candera.

She saves Mason’s life and offers to lead him to her home which is a keep deep within the ground of the forest. As they journey through the hidden catacombs he soon discovers that her home, although subterranean, is not within Midkemia; it is a different world. She has been bound here by the Mystic Council, of which Saunderon is a member, for deeds which they deemed to be dangerous and deceitful, henceforth her given name of “The Enchantress.” Although his senses warn him against trusting Candera, a part deep within him feels drawn to her. Candera, who has lived as the solitary human on this world for hundreds of years, feels the same passion for Mason.

They share nights of debauchery beneath the moons which can be viewed through the windows of her castle which is nestled deep within a mountainous valley. She explains that other areas of this land contain beings and creatures which even she has not been able to face. Yet she knows that somewhere, hidden amongst the forests and valleys of this land, there lies a secret which might help unlock her curse. So they venture together and experience this land. They share love, adventure, passion, yet ultimately, he is forced to leave her in order to rejoin Saunderon.

He had abandoned the responsibility he had been tasked with by Saunderon in lieu of remaining with Candera. However, he painfully realizes that he must rejoin his mentor. This song is a glimpse of their time together as well as his final departure which leaves her alone again; a forest wraith lost in her own private world of loss and torment.
